Agony Aunt Aura Nelson is a strong female woman who has lived a varied life and met a countless people from all kinds of backgrounds over the decades. Aura’s big heart, patience and understanding has counselled, comforted and helped these people get through tough and testing times in their life. Financial worries, relationship breakdowns, unruly kids, even lazy housewives unable to cope with their chores, Aura has counselled them all. “My advice isn’t always right…” she tells me “…but its real. That’s what people want.”.

Although Aura has studied counselling, gained an A Level* in Psychology she insists that experience and a little drop of compassion go way further than a degree. “People want to share their darkest secrets and troubles in comfortable surroundings with somebody who’s been there or knows somebody who has been there as opposed to some cold faced smart alec in a fancy office , with their happy lives. I’ve been through tough times and I’ve seen a lot of dark things”. Now Aura is sharing her advice online in the hope that she can reach out to other troubled people.

Aura’s advice isn’t always straight forward and can often be controversial. She understands that putting her advice ‘out there’ online is taking a big risk but is prepared to bite the bullet. “I call a spade a spade. If I can crack a line in jest to make someone feel better, I’ll say it, however inappropriate”.
